Enhancing Your Pet’s Dog Kennel Experience

Whenever a guest comes to stay with us at Springfield Kennels, it is in everyone’s best interests that he or she arrive in good health and with the right supplies in tow. Although our boutique dog resort offers a full range of supplies and services, we do ask that owners read the following information concerning vaccinations and preferred items.

The Owner’s Responsibility

To guarantee the safety and comfort of all our guests, we ask that you observe the following:

  • Please ensure that your dog is up to date on vaccinations before arrival; we require DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza), bordetella (kennel cough) and Rabies vaccines. Your veterinarian can print (or e-mail) a record of vaccination that you can bring along at drop off. Failure to supply records of these three vaccinations could result in denial of service.
  • Please estimate the amount of food/treats your dog will need for his/her stay, plus a meal or two in the case of a spill. We have limited storage space, so smaller rather than larger containers are greatly appreciated!
  • Please bring any medications or treatments that your dog requires, along with detailed instructions.
  • Please bring a bed or blanket that smells of home. This seems to be the most important item in helping our guests settle into the kennel and is of great comfort to them at night. Keep in mind that anything with stuffing may end up 'unstuffed' and any fabric items can become soiled or unsalvageable so make sure it is something that can be disposed of if necessary. We do what we can to make sure items go home, but it's not always possible!
  • Please ensure your dog is wearing a collar (no pinch or bark collars) and while a leash will be needed to get from the car to the office, your leash will go home with you. We use our own to prevent yours from getting lost in the daily activities at the kennel!
  • We use stainless steel bowls, so no dishes are required.
